It looks like through their parent company, CC is going all in on this technology. Being able to cruise my home waters in total silence would be pretty amazing, but as you can see it's capacity is still limited. I think a hybrid would be the way to have a little of both worlds.

Slowly but surely.
I think I may be the last generation that gets to burn fossil fuel with reckless abandon. I'm gonna enjoy it. That said, an electric dinghy would be perfect.

50 amp charger will take 10 hours. That's a lot of generator time burning fossil fuels to get a few hours of running.
Batteries are a storage device. Power needs to be generated.

80kw at 240 volts is over 330 Amps.
That's not a simple $500 charger to add to the boathouse.
Include the thousands of dollars to run cable and install a $30k charger. It's not so cost effective.

Convert that to Bahamian electrical costs and your looking at about $150 to charge for three hours of run time...LOL. Our CC wakeboard boat would but about 1-2 gallon an hour of normal use depending how heavy you were on the throttle. We are going to have many years of hybrid before electric only will be practical. Year year the technology keeps advancing....we’ll get there...eventually.

And the majority of the US power grid is run on coal or natural gas. So... a coal powered boat... with toxic batteries that will end up in the landfill leaching into our water... manufactured with lithium that is mined with more toxic land stripping chemicals and child slave labor in undeveloped nations. Hopefully once all the tree huggers switch over to electric, either solar or nuclear we will be swimming in old dinosaur juice. Then we will be able to run our old classics like speed boats. Well there's always hope.
