  1. Sportfish RAMMING SPEED

Shotgun start tournaments get ugly from time to time but this is ridiculous! This was in Mexico a few days ago. Looks like the filming boat was the one to cut off boat 2 who was coming up hot. Stupid, wreckless none the less for two boats to get this close. ...

  2. Salon Furniture

When I spec'd out the salon furniture, I had the chase section made a little shorter than it should have been. Shame too because that where I like to read and my feet hung over the edge. I thought about getting a longer section made, but wifey suggested an alternative. Glastop made a matching...

  4. I think she is way underpowered.

This is just my opinion, but I think when the owner repowered her in 2010 and put 6 cylinders Cummins in with only 210 HP he greatly under powered her. I also wonder if they are as heavy as the Detroits he took out and what that did to the buoyancy of the boat. ...

  5. Lower helm visibility.

We're getting closer. Not quite there yet, but closer. As we surf YW we keep coming back to the Hatts. Major factor is, of course, layout, specifically galley up, galley down. Aside from the livability which is personal and an endless discussion I don't really want to start there's the following:...

  6. Guestions from my Hatteras Hunt?

This is on a 1981 43c. Is it normal to have a cleat bolts punched to the exterior Hull? Is this what I am seeing?

  7. Columbus Day Regatta at Elliott Key in Biscayne Bay, Who's going?

Some buddies and I are heading down to Miami or Miami Beach Thursday and then down to the party at Elliott Key on Friday. Anyone going? If yes, we could look out for each other and meet. I have not been in a number of years but there is no way I will forget the good times I have had there. ...

  8. Northeast, Florida or, Freshwater. Would you have a preference when buying?

Northeast, Great lakes, Florida or, Freshwater. Would you have a preference when buying a boat? Not considering the cost to move would you look or prefer one location to find your boat or would it matter to you? I hear positives and negatives of all types. Thanks

  9. One Post Leads to Another

Brian inspired me to get back on it. My cockpit aft fuel tank access always bothered me. Peeling paint and generally nasty. Not sure why I hadn't tackled it before now, but appreciate Brian's motivational post. Leveled out the surface with resin. Unfortunately, I forgot to add some...

Just curious if anybody here owned or knew the owner of a 60MY named Half Nelson. Just trying to get the history on a boat. Thanks.

  11. Private Messages

I have a grand total of 11 messages in my mailbox but got an email notification my mailbox is full. Anybody else having this issue? I’m pretty sure the maximum is 500, so I’m confused.

  12. NJ to FLA

I have a set of tools for Scott (Boatsb) in Cocoa Beach, Fl that I need to get to him. Is anyone planning to make the Fl run this fall? Scott is in Cocoa Beach and I'm sure will meet you as you run past his place..... It would be a PITA to pack properly and expensive to ship...... Walt

  13. Might Need a Detroit and Hull Surveyor in Ft. Lauderdale

We have an offer pending on a boat in southeast Florida. If accepted we plan to have a thorough engine survey. Then a hull survey if the motors are good. Can anybody recommend a couple of people that have a great record please?

  15. Pretty Good Freshwater Deck Fill Adapter

Been using one of these 1-1/4" adapters to secure the water hose to the deck fill since I bought Aslan. The water pressure at my marina can go as high as 90 PSI. Even so, it may take 25-30 mins to fill a 380 gallon tank--I suffer from a short attention span. Finally wore it out, so here's the new...

  18. Anchor Marking Buoy Weight

Sometimes I even surprise myself. I wanted to make a weight for an anchor buoy. Had plenty of lead and thought I'd just melt some in a tin can. Out of gas, I came up with this I like better. 7 oz. mixing cup filled up with epoxy resin and lead shot. Got the easy-grip #9 stipple and...

  19. Water tank out

Removed the aft water tank on our 53MY and moved the berth aft. Gained about 14 inches. Our mattress is a Calif. King which is 84 inches long and 72 inches wide. We have 33 inches between the foot of the bed and the closet and 19 inches between the foot of the bed and the corner of the head. It is...
