  1. Converting tower to folding chair

I'm thinking about removing the tower from my 60c and converting it into a truly unique den chair. It might end up a little tall, but I have a 37 ft ceiling in the den.... What do you guys think?

  2. Alternative energy

Found a site that has what appears to be a good explanaiton of most of the alternative energy sources. Problem is that it appears none of them are worth a crap and most appear to be a waste of time and resources. Alot of hype and no substance. Hydrogen Fuel cell is by far the worst alternative...

  4. converting flybride to folding one

Has anyone ever altered a flybridge ladder to one that can be folded up against the top of the aft deck so it's not in the way of the aft deck's space? Or, how about a source of folding ladders? Thanks

  5. Poll Poll: Hatteras Owners Club

Many of you have asked about starting an official Hatteras Owner's Club. We have discussed it with several people, including the folks at Hatteras. I wanted to share my thoughts and get some feedback before going further.

  6. Soft Mahogany

I'm helping a friend with an Egg Harbor and one of the first things he wants to tackle is a small amount of rot in some interior wood. Fortunately, the hull is FRP. I've used Git Rot before - back in the day, and was satisfied with it. Now, I'm wondering if Smith's penetrating epoxy would work as...

  7. Boat Fire in Chicago

There was a bad boat fire in Chicago on Friday night. I live on the lake, having a great view of half the Belmont harbor. About 12:30AM on Saturday morning, I got curious with the number of sirens outside and took a peak. The north side of the harbor entrance was a sea of red white and blue,...

  9. Future Hatteres owner questions.

I am interested in a 61 ft through 75 ft Hatteres cockpit motor yacht from 1980-1990 ball park years. Here are a few of my questions: What year or size do you have a single engine room versus an engine room on either side of the hallway? About how many hours are the V12 diesel engines...

  11. Bahamas

This was taken in the cut at Normans cay. We were anchored overnight just west of the airplane wreck. The anchor held in 2.5 kts of current that changed 180 degrees.

  14. My insurance renewal, with a twist

As everyone knows, boat insurance in Florida is high. And as a full time liveaboard, your choices are very limited. Had been with ACE till they left the state. For the past few years, Great Lakes,UK have been the "cheapest". This year, I got my renewal, it went DOWN a whopping $40.... To...
