  2. We boat! Hatteras 54 EDMY

After 4 years of planning and lurking on the message boards, we finally pulled the trigger and bought a 1990 54' EDMY. She was Carolina Girl, will soon be named Ocean Sloth. I am about to ask a large number of dumb questions as we try to figure things out, but I promise that I have searched the...

  4. Crane and Winch

I am in Harbor Island Eleuthera and our new SA12000AC crane motor has arrived with assorted mounting hardware. The new unit has 50 feet of stainless cable and a hook. The old unit has relatively new stainless cable and a weighted hook I like better. Do I use the new wire and somehow detach...

  5. Owner of the Great Escape

If you are on here would you reach out please? We talked on the VHF when you were headed east out of Sturgeon Bay. I see you on the hard in Lauderdale and I had a few questions about your trip south. Thank you.

  6. Harbor Island Eleuthera Guide for Devils Backbone

We are planning to visit Harbour Island later this week. Does anyone have a pilot they would recommend for the Devils Backbone, contact info, and cost? My plan is to do the return trip using my cookies and high tide. Please let me know if this is considered a bad idea. Thanks. Bruce

  7. Spanish Wells Crane Replacement

My Strongman 12000AC failed to get the boat on deck today at Hatchet Bay, Eleuthera. I have a new one being flown in Sunday. Can anyone recommend someone to swap the old winch for the new one in Spanish Wells next week? Until then, we will improve our towing game. Bruce

  9. Would anyone have an idea of fuel burn at hull speed on a 72' sportfish...

Would anyone have an idea of fuel burn at hull speed on a 72' sportfish... with MTU 12V396 TB diesels? It's not a hat but a Vripack The motors are 2285 hp. I'm guessing it's not great. Just trying to get an idea.

At my Pilot House helm I have the 4 traditional Bilge switches for FWD, AFT, Port and Starboard bilges. I also have a single switch directly behind the wheel and to the right labeled “Bilge Pump”. I can’t seem to locate what it controls. It has power and illuminates when I place in manual or...

Probably rent this slip cheap. So much for global warming and ocean rise. It’s like someone pulled the drain plug around here I’ve never seen the tides so low.

Is it me or is the Yachtworld site wonky and glitchy? For me it’s slow and non responsive. I view it on my iPad, which is up to date on the updates so I don’t get it! Very frustrating and wondering if anyone else has this issue.

  14. Dinghy chock cushion material

‘New’ dinghy (13’ whaler) means I have to re-do dinghy chocks I bought at Sailorman in Fort Lauderdale. Can anyone recommend where I can find the rub-rail like material that provides the cushioning effect between the chock and the boat. Here’s a pic of what was on there:

  20. Backup Gas Generator

I saw a 1300kw portable gas generator for $1k that sits on wheels and would store easily in my boat's garage under the cockpit.
