  1. Bahamas Hatteras Cruisers

We have cruised the Berry's, and Eleuthera, and are now in George Town over the last month. We have seen some antique Hatteras's in Bristol condition at marinas in Nassau and Harbour Island. But we have not seen any other Hatteras motor yachts cruising or at anchor. We used to look for the other...

  2. Nut jobs now welcome--some restrictions apply.

Aslan's been on the market for a few months. Understanding the market is weak, I didn't expect to be overwhelmed with cash laden buyers. I was not prepared for some real nut jobs who were allowed onboard. This is what I would call a lack of qualification by the broker and what I thought I was...

Hello Hatt team, I'm still in the hunt. I now have two boats in my sights. That said, does anyone know of the Boat "Gypsy Rose" from Jupiter? I have seen it listed for 675 a while ago, now 499 with another broker.... engines are 12V92's DDEC version. I looked at the boat and engine room is...

  4. Surveyor recommendations,Please. Fort Lauderdale

We are getting ready to sign a contract on a 61 Hatteras. The owner currently has the vessel in Fort Lauderdale. I would love a few surveyor recommendations.. this is a 1981 vessel that has not been maintained with evidence of leaks, lots of things are not working, bad flooring not in good shape at...

  7. We boat! Hatteras 54 EDMY

After 4 years of planning and lurking on the message boards, we finally pulled the trigger and bought a 1990 54' EDMY. She was Carolina Girl, will soon be named Ocean Sloth. I am about to ask a large number of dumb questions as we try to figure things out, but I promise that I have searched the...

  9. Crane and Winch

I am in Harbor Island Eleuthera and our new SA12000AC crane motor has arrived with assorted mounting hardware. The new unit has 50 feet of stainless cable and a hook. The old unit has relatively new stainless cable and a weighted hook I like better. Do I use the new wire and somehow detach...

  10. Owner of the Great Escape

If you are on here would you reach out please? We talked on the VHF when you were headed east out of Sturgeon Bay. I see you on the hard in Lauderdale and I had a few questions about your trip south. Thank you.

  11. Harbor Island Eleuthera Guide for Devils Backbone

We are planning to visit Harbour Island later this week. Does anyone have a pilot they would recommend for the Devils Backbone, contact info, and cost? My plan is to do the return trip using my cookies and high tide. Please let me know if this is considered a bad idea. Thanks. Bruce

  12. Spanish Wells Crane Replacement

My Strongman 12000AC failed to get the boat on deck today at Hatchet Bay, Eleuthera. I have a new one being flown in Sunday. Can anyone recommend someone to swap the old winch for the new one in Spanish Wells next week? Until then, we will improve our towing game. Bruce

  14. Would anyone have an idea of fuel burn at hull speed on a 72' sportfish...

Would anyone have an idea of fuel burn at hull speed on a 72' sportfish... with MTU 12V396 TB diesels? It's not a hat but a Vripack The motors are 2285 hp. I'm guessing it's not great. Just trying to get an idea.

  15. 61MY Bilge Switch

At my Pilot House helm I have the 4 traditional Bilge switches for FWD, AFT, Port and Starboard bilges. I also have a single switch directly behind the wheel and to the right labeled “Bilge Pump”. I can’t seem to locate what it controls. It has power and illuminates when I place in manual or...

  16. Cheap slip in so Fla

Probably rent this slip cheap. So much for global warming and ocean rise. It’s like someone pulled the drain plug around here I’ve never seen the tides so low.

  17. Yacht world

Is it me or is the Yachtworld site wonky and glitchy? For me it’s slow and non responsive. I view it on my iPad, which is up to date on the updates so I don’t get it! Very frustrating and wondering if anyone else has this issue.

  18. Looking for suggestions on where to live aboard in Florida or surrounding states?

I've been trying to research where we could get an affordable slip to either buy or lease in the south. We have of course been looking at the Florida Keys, but slips start at about $250k We were looking there and up along the gulf side and the lack of slips has prices through the roof as I'm...

  19. Dinghy chock cushion material

‘New’ dinghy (13’ whaler) means I have to re-do dinghy chocks I bought at Sailorman in Fort Lauderdale. Can anyone recommend where I can find the rub-rail like material that provides the cushioning effect between the chock and the boat. Here’s a pic of what was on there:
