  1. Hatteras Molds

Does anyone know whatever happened to some of the old molds, the 32 in particular? Boats like the 65C, and 53C are timeless and it makes you wonder if they were all destroyed at some point. Thanks Tony

  3. Looking for Ships Clock suggestions

I have an empty hole to fill above the lower helm. It's roughly a 5" diameter holes. I assume is was for either a ships clock or barometer. I would like to fill the hole with something that looks nice. Looking for suggestions and if anyone has a clock or barometer to sell that might fit....

  4. How to upload nice pictures?

Every picture I ever uploaded is small and if you zoom in it gets blurry. Yet I see other posted pictures that start out larger and nicer. What's the trick?

  5. Garmin Autopilot - GPS - Cortex AIS

Last year my middle son took an interest in running my boat. Quickly, I realized the 1985 Robertson Autopilot and circa 2000 Raytheon C120 were major barriers to his development. So I decided to "go new" for my last ten years of boating. I posted several threads on these topics and thank...

  6. Fort Myers - Sanibel - Miserable Mile - Hurricane Ian

I am heading south from Tampa to Exumas this week and weather may drive me inside. Does anyone have local knowledge of the ICW route through the Miserable Mile and under the Sanibel causeway to the Gulf? Did Ian change the charted route? Thanks Bruce

  7. Great video on boat building

It s a bit long and promotional but this tour of the Euro Marine - Lazzara yard in Turkey was fascinating showing ever aspect of boat building. Euro Marine bought the defunct Lazzara Yachts a few years ago and moved production from Tampa FL to Turkey. It’s a shame Hatteras was bought by Bass...

  8. "My Emeralds" Extended 82' Hatteras MY 1977

Does anyone know who owns this boat currently? She was sold in 2013 in Virginia as "My Emeralds". I'm told she has changed hands again - maybe twice. Former name was "Moonbeam" I have this nice framed photo that I would like to pass on to her owner. Anyone know her?

  9. RR bridge in Stuart to be locked DOWN for 3 weeks.

On April 11th the RR bridge in Stuart is to be locked in down position for three straight weeks, with no opening at all by Brightline. So unless you have a 7’ clearance, everyone west is stuck. “Yay being steamrolled with no recourse “. Pedestrian and auto deaths are over 54 people now-just from...

  15. If you were starting all over, would you buy a Hatt with DD engines again??

Thanks for any replys, comments, or suggestions. I am a long time fan of Hatteras Boats that goes back to my childhood with memories of chartered fishing trips on the gulf. I have always owned some type of boat, which all have been 24ft and under. This year I will be 50, my wife is close behind,...

  16. Hatteras and old Detroit Diesels

Old Hats and Detroit DieselsWe've been looking for boats for a while and finally found one through Yacht World we really loved. 17. Best liveaboard Hatteras?

This is kind of a dreamer sort of post, in a sense... When I was a kid, we had a boat on a local lake and spent our summers there. Fast forward to adulthood, after toying around with some smaller boats, we bought a Trojan F-32. Had a lot of fun, decided we needed something with better...

  18. Hynautic H42-04S rebuild kit?

Looking for a part number for a rebuild kit for the Hynautic H42-04S pump. I researched and saw a post by "Southern Comfort" on here who has the same pump and vessel (1985 61 MY) that he had one and the recommended kit number HS-04 did not fit his unit, however he did not elaborate on which kit...

  19. Mooring in the Keys (and elsewhere)? The good and the bad?

o.k. dreaming a little here. Our plan is to somehow eventually get our 53 down south somewhere, like Florida, the keys or the Caribbean. Not rich, and will have a limited retirement budget. I've been researching docominium's and/or a slip/dock to rent. Both are outrageously priced in the keys. ...
