  2. "galley down"... any photos of modified dinettes that are more comfortable ?

Say on the 1977 to 1989, 53 to 60 Hatteras....any of you modified the dinette to make it a "U" shape or anything ? Original is not terrible of course but not the most comfortable thing in the world either....thinking in terms of spending time there at a laptop, not just eating.

  5. fuel

Today I visited Belmar NJ, at the municipal marina the fuel pump shoes a sale $800 and 485 gallons! That's $1.649, it's been a while since I have seen prices like this. I like it, I hope it lasts. JM

We're motoring along at about 8k on the inside of Captiva and someone gets on 16 calling Dan Mapes..... Dan Mapes.... So I answer, and sure enough, it's Greg on the Elly Rose. I'm going to have to drag the dink when I get it fixed so the boat names shows. I would have bought a round at...

  11. Seattle/Tacoma newbie, 58' Yachtfisherman

Howdy folks- My wife and I took over "Time Out West" today and will be basing her in Tacoma WA. We're the 5th owners, she is in great shape (surveyed the mechanicals and engines) and I'm looking forward to keeping her that way while getting out and about the NW. I'm a fan of the forum world...

  13. Falling For Your Boat

Well, I am hoping to be more active on the SM website. My Dad died five years ago, who was a massive fan of the boat, a 1972 43' Hatt DCFB MY. When he passed away, some family members went totally haywire and created massive havoc in the family, esp. for me physically and emotionally. I had no...

  14. Anchoring Cruise on LIS

I'm thinking this might be the year for an 'anchoring mostly' cruise of Long Island Sound. I'd be arriving via Hells Gate. I've done some searching on Active captain for a good 2-3 week trip, but can't seem to get my arms around a plan. I do not want to spend the $$$ for the area marinas or even...

  15. What's this worth?

In the "For Sale" section I posted an Ideal windlass: http://www.samsmarine.com/forums/showthread.php?27568-NOS-Ideal-V3c-windlass-Part-1 Now I have a philosophical question for you guys: how does one value NOS stuff? It is apparently brand new (but I cannot absolutely confirm that) so...

  17. Dead Fish Redux, or any excuse for a drink

Recently Captain Tony started a thread about a recent fish kill. http://www.samsmarine.com/forums/showthread.php?27560-Dead-Fish. I wryly remarked that the title reminded me of a local drinking hole and restaurant named The Dead Fish (any vacationers to San Francisco may have eaten at the...

  18. Getting rid of a few things

Stuff is piling up and I need to get rid of a few things. I have a KVH HP4 antenna for Direct TV removed from boat. Who needs it? I don't have the boxes to go with it as someone has taken those already. I also have several of the windows removed from the boat. All I have left are the rear master...

  20. GalleyMaid horrible customer service

Upon having our FW pump fail we next day shipped it to GM as they now only re-build given they do not stock the older pumps. After paying the $500 for shipping round trip the "re-built" pump worked for 3 weeks. While at a marina in Ky the service manager told us of the last GM pump they sent...
