  1. Hey Pascal - Chartering an 84' Lazarra

This weekend we had a club raft up at University Cove near Bakers Haulover. I was rafted up to an 84' Lazarra named Chip. Over beverages with the owner, he mentioned that he charters the boat 100 days per year at $7000/day. He also mentioned that he is just breaking even at this rate. I was...

  2. electronics question

This is only somewhat marine-related, but worth asking: Could someone describe to me the satellite TV services that are available using a KVH antenna system? This is actually for my house in the Outer Banks of NC. First we had Charter/Spectrum cable, who were terrible on service. We got rid of...

  4. What's the scoop on Old Bahama Bay?

Planning our first trip on our own boat to Abacos this spring. Plan was West Palm to West End, clear customs, refuel and spend the night, then on to Great Sale the next night, then to Green Turtle. I had an email from OBB confirming a slip for the night, but now I'm hearing all sorts of things...

Previous owner disabled my Water Makers fresh water maker, and installed a Spot Zero water purifier in its place. He did fish the boat a little, but mostly used as a second home. 10. Lead Weight

Always heard about lead weight Hatteras used to level boats at the factory. Here's a couple photos what we found in our 46C. Turned out to be 400 pounds of it. Boat sits level and about an inch or two higher in the front now after removing it.

  12. Slow Motion Sinker: Dock Water Danger

Old dock queen houseboat just about bought it yesterday. Owner left for work and left dock water on. We have 85 PSI. A fitting failed, and the flow overwhelmed the bilge pump(s). This pic was on the way back. It had a pretty good list going.

  15. Can Anyone ID This Trim?

This is edge trim for the fabric overhead in Aslan. It probably is not OEM, and I checked the Sam's parts site first. Could it be OEM? It has a Figure 8 cross-section; the core is cord. The outer covering is the same as the overhead; I don't know the overhead material. The trim is 1/2" wide by...

  20. Mobile Al through the Panama canal.

Well as trucking my 78 37C from Mobile Al. to San Diego is just not economically feasible. On the truck height is close to 16 ft. For what it would cost me to truck it I can run the Canal. Now the catch. Fuel stops along the way. How to map them out? Obviously will require fuel bladders in...
