  2. Sticky Thread Sticky: Northeast 2020

Maybe this is optimistic, but at some point this Corona thing should ease off and instead of hiding from it we'll be ordering it at the bar. It also doesn't hurt to think of more positive things while we're all cooped up. With that in mind, the Northeast Rendezvous is tentatively planned for...

  1. Wreck removal, Brunswick, Ga

I found an article about the removal of the capsized car carrier in Georgia that has a lot of detail on the process and lot of photographs. https://jalopnik.com/a-chain-just-cut-through-a-capsized-cargo-ship-filled-w-1845784581

  2. What to do in New Bern on a Rainy Saturday

So, I'm heading down to New Bern this weekend to look at a 45C. Wx calls for showers on Sat, so I will probably check her out on Sunday. I'd like the hull to be dry for the moisture meter. So, presuming I come down Fri, is there anything interesting to do there on a Sat? Oh, my wife is not...

  4. MSR Decor....

Pleated and lined curtains off the shelf, but an acquaintance with a blind stitching machine properly hemmed them for a small fee. Only thing I changed was the location of the side tracks. For some reason they are almost a foot off the side wall. I moved them to 3-1/2" off the wall which greatly...

  5. Ft Myers Boat Rental

Heading for a couple of weeks of vacation at the end of February to Ft Myers to get out of Minnesota winter. While we are there, I wanted to take my family for a boat ride on the intercostal waterway, and was wondering if anyone had feedback on where to rent from? Thinking about a 24+ foot...

  6. Does anyone know this boat? Annie J 1977 53 MY

Hello all! We are new to this forum as well as new Hatteras owners. We purchased a 1977 53MY named Annie J. We dug through the paperwork (all the way back to when she was new) and found she spent a lot of time in Galveston, TX and Key Largo with trips up and down the east coast including to Quebec....

  7. Looking for Standard Horizon 8 pin Ram Mic

I'm looking for the old style 8 pin Ram Mic that would of fit an older Standard Horizon VHF. My radio works great but the RAM Mic coating is starting to decay. If you have one sitting around after replacing your radio let me know. Standard Horizon doesn't sell or service them anymore. Thanks!

  8. Admiral woke me up....

And the boat did too, at the same time. ..(4am)... "Honey, what's that noise?" BOOM..... BOOOM! Like someone hitting the hull with a rubber mallot.... Now, we're tied up at a dock in a waterway with a ripping current at times, (Kent Narrows, MD) and in this case the wind AND the multi knot current...

  9. looking for an arch 18'3 beam

Would like to ditch the mast and replace with an arch. New is prohibitively expense, so was thinking of a used/salvage. Is this a possibility or am I smoking rope?

  10. Happy Thanksgiving to All My Hatteras Buddies

I’m thankful for this forum, the folks who host it, moderate it and contribute to it. This year especially, the forum has kept me focused on making my boat even better and not fixated on COVID or the awful atrocities my shameful ancestors perpetrated on our injun brethren.

2 hours to get the dryer out and 6 hours cleaning mold, mildew, duck tape residue, dryer lint, etc. The picture does not reveal it good but from the overhead to the deck, it was covered in orange and black mildew and mold. 15. Proud owner afloat of a new-to-me 1986 Hatteras 54' MY - Pau Hana

Good afternoon and hello everyone! I am delighted to be marking 2 weeks as full owner of our 1986 Hatteras 54' MY, Pau Hana. I am an old Coastie, with quite a bit of sea time, but all of it was on ships a little bigger :D than this. We're homeported in Fort Myers, FL and transited the OkeeChobee...

  18. Flybridge removal, 1972 43DC

Well, I finally got it done, removed the bridge from our 43DC. I just really prefer the lower station for a variety of reasons, and in our area the extra height gain is worth the work of removing it. Plus I will get to replace all of the gauges, and control cables, etc. This could have...
