  2. Up (21) or down (17.5) on Genny

Looking at new Generators to replaced the old Onan MDL4 20kW GenSet that has served us very well over the years. It appears Phasor either has a 17.5kW or 21kW option. I could make an argument either way....interested in experiences from those who have made the swap. What’s the thinking on new...

  8. 52C best economy for long trip?

Looking at taking my 52C on a 750 nm trip. Boat has 735hp 8v92's. Curious what the best balance of speed and economy others have experienced. During my only longer trip (200 nm) @ 8.5 knots my flow scans weren't reliable, but my guess is 1/1. Does that sound right? Ideas of fuel use at 9-9.5 knots?...

  10. Abacos - The Rage Wave Height

Another thread pointed out our tendency to exaggerate wave heights. Since I exaggerate everything, I thought I would get a third party estimate on the worst waves I have had my boat in and see if we can get some anecdotal stories of terrible seas with accurate measurements. For those familiar...

  11. Red face Port Liability Insurance Recommendation, Please.

Hello to all! I am seeking port liability insurance for my 1965 Hatteras. Because of her age, it seems no one wants to offer insurance although this boat is in very nice condition. It stays in its slip all year since I cannot move it by myself. Therefore, as nice as she is, alas, she has become a...
