  2. Surveyor in New England

I may have found the right Hatt for me but she is in New England and I am in North Carolina. Has anyone used a good surveyor in New England that knows Hatts well? In particular, I want a surveyor that will really know how to look for coring issues. Thanks for your help. Cheers, st.tully

Karl, I now know what you went through when you found all of that rot under your pulpit, for I have experienced a similar horror this past weekend. I recently discovered the pump-out fitting leaking into the head after a rainstorm. 6. New Fridge installed in 53MY!

Yesterday it was out with the old and in with the new fridge. We managed to get it all done in about 9 hours, including the time it took to go pick up the new fridge and later take a break for pizza! 7. picture posting limit...

I see that I have maxed out my allowance for posting pics. If I go to manage attachements and select any/all of them I assume they are removed from whichever posts they are in, right? I guess the only way to deal with it is to eliminate all pics prior to say, a month ago. Is there any other...

  9. How to: Portlight Removal

Does anyone have any experience with replacing a portlight? While docking his boat, my SeaRay neighbor backed into my boat and broke the frame on one of my portlights in the aft stateroom. It is the plastic Fuller Brush 7x15 portlight. I removed the screws inside easily, but there appears to be...

My recent trip from Paducah, KY to northern Michigan was halted by the birth of a new granddaughter with some medical complications - so I had to leave Strategic Plan in Peoria, IL and return home to Michigan. 12. Coolant Additives

I have a 1980 53 sportfisher with 1271TI's. I have been using standard Prestone coolant mixed 50/50. My mechanic is recommending Nalcool 3000 additive to help with corrosion protection. Is this advisable for this application?

  13. Windlass is slipping

I have a '73 53ftMY. The 32 volt windlass appears to be original. The anchor chain is about 40ft and then 200ft of rode. Once the rode is in and tension is on the chain the slipping begins. I pulled the clutch plate, cleaned it roughed it up a bit. It got better (a little) at first, but is...

  15. moisture in fuel

It would appear that that majority of the water that gets in the fuel tanks comes from the vent. I wonder if a dryer in the vent line would work. Use a dryer from an air compressor. if this works then it could possibly help keep fuel tanks dry, mainly the gasoline tanks subject to ethanol fuel....
