  2. How Many Hatteras Owners Does It Take To Change a Lightbulb?

Just when you think a project will be simple, its not. I have a small warning light on the 110 breaker panel next to the "Battery Charger" breaker. The bulb is burned out. Just replace it right? Until you call the electrical supply houses and ask for one. Mine is a typical bayonett style base, the...

  3. Inverter endorsement

Thought I would give a big endorsement to the Outback 3232 inverter/charger. I installed it a couple of weeks ago and have been very surprised and pleased with its performance. I purchased it after much research and discussion on this site because I didn't want to add any batteries/new...

  6. On the hard

Well folks it's about that time of year to start the process of pulling the boat for the season. You lucky sun belt captains may wish to move on to the next topic but all opinions are most welcomed. I'm looking for the pros and cons of storing in heated -vs- outside. Price or availability is not...

  8. exhaust hose

Just wondering...while I was reading thread on exhaust collectors..... Has anyone with a 53 or similar layout replaced their exhaust hoses. When I bought my boat and had it surveyed, the surveyor recommended I replace since they were original (thus 36 years old now). They don't leak or...

  10. Hatt's Off To Pat Bustle aka Liquid Asset

After hearing about the lock problem up on the Tennessee, I asked for help in locating a marina to dock FREEBIRD while those problems were being addressed by the USACE. Looks like Pat and I are going to be neighbors! (bless his heart, he don't know what he's gotten himself into :D ) Yep, I'll...

  13. 32v Richardson Autopilot, '74 58TC

Just got off the phone with my electronics guy in New Port Richey where my 58TC awaits its trip home to Tennessee. Good news is, loose wiring / corrosion was the cause of the malfunction of my Raytheon radar. Seems it's working okay now. I also had him check out the original 32v Richardson...

  14. Boat sinks during fishing tournament

Another eventful White Marlin Open is in the books. We didn't catch the winning fish but it could have been worse! It was sad to see the beautiful 58' Paul Mann Custom 'Dream Catcher' barely sticking up out of the water late Wednesday. By the time we saw her on the way back in from fishing...

  18. Question yacht safety center 1979 58 m/y

I am installing a new custom safety center from aqualarm. I have a doubt. 20. Formica removal

I'm about to replace the counter tops in our 48MY with new Formica. Most of the old stuff is well adhered and will just need sanding.
