  1. Hour Meter Reset

The fuse blew to the hour meter to one of my engines and it ran about 50 hours before I noticed it. To add about 50 hours to the meter can I simply connect a 12 volt lead to it and leave it connected for two days?

  2. fresh water plumbing

I would like to get some impressions from you all how your Hatteras yachts' FW plumbing was done from the factory. Blue Note is plumbed with copper pipe, however in some areas reinforced hose was used to transition from copper lines to fixtures. The hose is slipped over the end of the copper pipe...

  3. Thumbs up Ted Hood's Hatteras Sailing Yacht

Hi Guys, After missing out on Bill's boat :( I've been consoling myself looking at other boats out of my financial reach. Here's one others have mentioned, wishing to see it or buy it someday. Only 3 of these were built and it looks pretty near mint:...

  6. Easy Freshwater Washdown

I discovered something on my 58TC over the week-end that lit a light bulb as to how I could have a freshwater washdown system on the boat as it does not have one (except in the bilge). This was on my to-do list as I like to keep a clean ship after running in a lot of salt spray. I had planned to...

  7. service manual Onan 7.5 MDJE-3CR/2268AD

I need help locating a service manual (not an owner's manual) for my genset on my '79 43DC. They are "on back order" where I have inquired. I need one much more quickly than that as I have some repairs I must attempt to make. Does anyone out there have one I can buy? Or borrow via USMail, copy...

  8. Spare props, size, blades, new or used...

I've been looking for a set of spare wheels for our boat. Jennifer at Hatteras pulled up the file on my boat and it said that the boat came from factory with 20X20 4 blade Michigans. seams a little large for 440 Chryslers but I'm not sure either. The boat currently has a set of 3 blades currently...

  11. speaking of hurricanes....

Hey, lets try to keep these things out of the Pacific. John is hurting tourism on the Mexican coast. But the real attention-getter is the piece I just read on Wake Is. Winds of 155 mph with gusts to 190 were recorded before all the instruments broke. Can you imagine the seas? Fortunately, they had...

  12. Hull Trauma

To get a good idea how some boats are made, go to usauctions.com and look at the wrecks. note the bayliner 47 and the searay 35, both hit something at higher speeds and pushed both struts throught the hull. there is also a hatteras 42LRC that wound up on a jetty, holed and sunk. very interesting...

  13. Columbus Day Regatta - Florida

Ang had the great suggestion to open up a thread on this little rendezvous. The 101's hoping to be there with bells on. Columbus Day is Monday Oct. 9, and unless I'm mistaken, they always hold it bayside (Biscayne Bay, of course) off of Elliott Key. It's about 12 or 13 nmi s of Miami. I'll...

  14. Responsible boat storage over winter - absentee issue

Here's another newbie question: How can I be a responsible boater, yet leave my Hatt 53/58/63 (etc.) for a few months at a time on the East coast while me and my family take care of business out West. I'm thinking that if we did spend a couple of seasons out East, we'd still need to leave...

  15. 48 or 52 cpmy

I am considering the purchase of either a 48' or 52' 1990's vintage Hatteras CPMY. I would be very interested in the pro's and con's on both from anyone who may have experience with these boats. Any input would be appreciated.

  16. Princess stove parts?

I'm assuming I have the original Princess 3-burner stove that shipped with my '84 45cSeries II. It has a wood cutting board surface mounted on top of a stainless folding tray top that covers the burners when they're not in use. Does anyone know where you can find parts for such a beastie? It...

  18. How to Size Electrical Cables

To properly size electrical cables, there is a formula we can use. Here it is. Acmil= (KxIxL)/V Where: Acmil is the cross-sectional area of the wire in circular mils K=10.75 representing the resistance of copper in mil-foot I= is the maximum Amps in the circuit we're designing

Have read on this forum and elsewhere about the use of pool tablets in tne AC sea water strainers.
