Hey Doc- did you ever use that board I sold you last year? If not, can I buy it back. I could use it.

  2. Another Tank Story

Hat vs. Barge.....think a Sea-Ray could have taken this hit and stayed afloat? "Vessel sustained fiberglass damage when a barge drifted into her port side. VESSEL DID NOT SINK OR TAKE ON ANY WATER. Vessel sustained exterior damage to the bow port hole, rub rail, engine vent, spray rail, various...

  3. Alternator output

I've had to add alot of water to my batteries over the past two months. On July 4th I topped off all batteries and this past weekend I had to add 4.5 gallons to the starboard bank alone. I guessed that the Sentry charger on this boat was not operating properly, but while cruising home yesterday I...

  4. Isolation transformer; how hot do they run?

I posed this question earlier in a mature thread and guess it got lost. The isolation transformer on my boat is almost too hot to touch. I'd guess 55C when running the four AC's etc.. Is that typical or do I need to get concerned? And if so, where can they be had? Bob

  6. Fuel Modulator adjustment on 892

Had the mechanic up on the boat last week. Took care of a couple of little issues. This guy has always seemed pretty fair and pretty knowledgeable. Asked me if there was anything else I had been noticing. I mentioned that when the turbo on the stb kicks in there was noticably more black smoke...

  7. oil cooler problem

Crusader model 350, 454 oil cooler. found one leaking around the seam where top casting meets the tube. Question is how are these assembled? are they silver soldered together? or is the pipe threaded. new cooler is 280.00, I hope there is a way to save the one I have instead of a new one.

  8. Hour Meter Reset

The fuse blew to the hour meter to one of my engines and it ran about 50 hours before I noticed it. To add about 50 hours to the meter can I simply connect a 12 volt lead to it and leave it connected for two days?

  9. fresh water plumbing

I would like to get some impressions from you all how your Hatteras yachts' FW plumbing was done from the factory. Blue Note is plumbed with copper pipe, however in some areas reinforced hose was used to transition from copper lines to fixtures. The hose is slipped over the end of the copper pipe...

  13. Easy Freshwater Washdown

I discovered something on my 58TC over the week-end that lit a light bulb as to how I could have a freshwater washdown system on the boat as it does not have one (except in the bilge). This was on my to-do list as I like to keep a clean ship after running in a lot of salt spray. I had planned to...

  14. service manual Onan 7.5 MDJE-3CR/2268AD

I need help locating a service manual (not an owner's manual) for my genset on my '79 43DC. They are "on back order" where I have inquired. 15. Spare props, size, blades, new or used...

I've been looking for a set of spare wheels for our boat. Jennifer at Hatteras pulled up the file on my boat and it said that the boat came from factory with 20X20 4 blade Michigans. seams a little large for 440 Chryslers but I'm not sure either. The boat currently has a set of 3 blades currently...

  18. speaking of hurricanes....

Hey, lets try to keep these things out of the Pacific. John is hurting tourism on the Mexican coast. But the real attention-getter is the piece I just read on Wake Is. Winds of 155 mph with gusts to 190 were recorded before all the instruments broke. Can you imagine the seas? Fortunately, they had...

  19. Hull Trauma

To get a good idea how some boats are made, go to usauctions.com and look at the wrecks. note the bayliner 47 and the searay 35, both hit something at higher speeds and pushed both struts throught the hull. there is also a hatteras 42LRC that wound up on a jetty, holed and sunk. very interesting...

  20. Columbus Day Regatta - Florida

Ang had the great suggestion to open up a thread on this little rendezvous. The 101's hoping to be there with bells on. Columbus Day is Monday Oct. 9, and unless I'm mistaken, they always hold it bayside (Biscayne Bay, of course) off of Elliott Key. It's about 12 or 13 nmi s of Miami. I'll...
