  4. Robertson Autopilot Repairs/Parts

    I've got an AP 300 series unit, with the main display freaking out. For some time it gave frequent control unit failures, and the LCD display would go nuts.   5. NMEA Translation-Old Auto Pilot

    Has anyone tried to translate NMEA 180 to 183 or vise versa? I have a good Robertson AP (NMEA 180) that will not take course deviation corrections from my cheapy GPS (NMEA 183 output). Is there a way to do this cheaply? This Robertson holds a heading great but will not track to way points, etc....

  6. rudder alignment

    Don's thread on prop offset got me thinking about running gear. If I remember right, the rudders on my 36C are towed in about 5 -10 degrees (will measure next time she is out). How much tow in should be there? Boat turns well in both directions. Thanks, Bob K

    So, just for fun, why did you or why would you (if buying another boat) buy an older hatteras? Why buy a 50'-60' boat that is essentially 30 years old vs. say a motoryacht (if that is your style boat) that is only say 3 years old and admittedly maybe 5-7 feet shorter but still, basically a brand...

    About to repower and wonder if anyone can give a reason why one prop is inches forward of the other. Is it that shafts are just made different lengths. Rudders are square and struts are as well.

  13. Hour Meter Plastic Blank

    I will be moving my hour meters from the engine room panel to the helm. I have asked Steve at Sam's and they do not carry the pastic blanks to fill up the hole left by the removed hour meters. Does anyone know of a source for these as I have been unable to find any? Thanks

  17. oil change gear pump update

    Just spoke with tech support at TCM-- their gear pump HEADS cannot be retrofitted to the reversos with the jabsco type. It seems that their unit uses the gear head as the motor end cover. As of today they do not build a 32VDC unit. I think I will still buy the 12VDC unit and deal with portability...
