  1. systems monitor thoughts and questions

Since I have DDEC's most of the sytem monitor is not used and in fact I have it completely disconnected. However I was looking at the schmatic and it looks like I could still use some part of it. Is it worth getting this 20 year old monitor back on it's feet or just scrap it and design and make...

  2. Can I do this???

I have 6v92's in my 45C and if any one has this vessel with these engines room is not one of its better qualities. I was told that I can eliminate from the aft side of these engines my oil coolers and install oil coolers in the front side of the engines( there is a spot already built into these...

Anyone know where I can find drawings/tech data /measurements for the original Hi-Lo table Hatteras put in the 36C series one? 4. 36C Deck Hatch

My front deck hatch is so warped that I can not get it to seal. Have any of you series 1 36c owners replaced your front deck hatch? I have looked at the hatches in all my catelogs but no one seems to offer a size that would fit the hatteras opening. Any suggestions? Bob

  5. Hatteras LRC questions:

A good friend of mine is selling his 36 Cape Dory sail boat and getting a power boat. He's a very knowledgeable boater, experienced, but he has that sail boat mentality. Go slow, spend no dough. I've been trying to get him interested in a Hatteras with little success. He has his eye on a Krogen...

  6. Searchlight and camera in one unit

Has anybody seen one of these? http://www.carlislefinch.com/NIGHTFINDER200.htm It looks like a great idea, but I wonder how well each component actually works. I have seen advertisements for the thermal imaging cameras in PassageMaker and they make them look great. But, is a thermal image...

  8. Red face Removing Hand Railing Varnish

It's past time to remove the old finish from my railings. I inherited this embarassing mess from the previous owner and my pride has dragged me to the task-at-hand. Who can direct me to a product which will remove the weathered varnish (some bare wood showing) without disturbing the paint or other...

  9. Calling all 85-87 43 MY owners

I have a contract on a 95 48 MY that is a similiar style MY as the 85-87 43 MYs with the helm over the salon. My question is do you all have trouble docking the boat because you can't see much of the stern from up at the helm? Does the helm being "up there" make the boat very difficult to single...

  10. New Fridge in 48 MY - Through the windows?

OK, I want to do 2 things: 1) Replace the full size, side-by-side doored fridg/freez, 120v only... w/ a new one (the one in place is original ); and 2) Provide for 120v/12v power to the new one. Runin' the Gen all the time (OK, most the time) to keep stuff cold seems idiotic. Q 1)...

  14. arrigoni design vs. Scopinich

I will be adding two sailfish chairs to my aft deck for light fishing duty in Long Island Sound. Assuming that the Scopinich chairs will come in at $1,000 or so more in total than the Arrigoni Design chairs, any thoughts on the two manufacturers. Because of a connection, I can get the Scopinich...

  17. CCTV System

I was aboard a buddy's MY that is equipped with a pretty extensive CCTV system. At the helm there is a panel with a number of buttons on it. 20. Wet cell vs AGM batteries

The "Battery Terminal" discussion got me thinking about battery longevity. And mumbling a bit to myself....
