  1. Running wiring to master stateroom (43C; 45C)

I run a '79 43C (same layout as the 45C). I have a TV jack located on the shelf in the salon inside the forward windows, directly above the Master suite. I want to replace the antenna run with a tv cable run to the same spot. The cable comes into the cabinets over the master bunk, from the stbd...

  3. 34c fuel tanks.

I really hate to cut up my cockpit deck, but I guess I have no choice. My tanks are trash. Rhode Island boat. 1967 34c. I remember gasohol in the mid '80s when I lived in Ct. Anyway, I am trying to decide if I can cut ALL the way around my coring and pull the deck in one big piece. Or if I...

  5. Pulling Radar/Sat TV Cables

I finally rigged some scaffolding up to access the top of the radar arch today. I managed to remove the old 3.5' 48 mile Furuno open array this afternoon. 7. Hull numbers

Since Byron (exsailor) just bought a 1985 53ED that is hull #740 and I own a 1985 that is hull #759 and DLCameron owns #760, does that mean that they built at least 21 ED's that year? I assume that's true, but I'm not exactly sure how the numbering works. It would just be interesting to know how...

  12. Fiberglass gas tanks...what they look like after 1/4 of a century use.

Like a lot of you gas boat owners I began taking apart my fuel system for inspection as a preventative maint. step in lieu of the many stories I've heard. I ran out of daylight so I did not finish...but I got thinking, (believe it or not)...after months of talking about the destruction this stuff...

  13. Flaking Chrome on Windlass

Some of the chrome is beginning to flake off on the base of my Galley Maid windlass. The boat has always been in fresh water so guess that's why it has lasted 27 years! Any suggestions on a fix? Was thinking about using a chrome spray paint after some light sanding to prevent any rusting. Thxs.

  14. Crusaders?

While giving Labrador (Skip) a hand last night I couldn't help but notice how well thought out the Crusader engines seem to be. I later read David Pascoe's article and he seem to be pretty impressed with them. Here's the link: http://www.yachtsurvey.com/GasEngines.htm All of that said, what...

  19. Back to Batteries

OK, In Sept 2005 I pulled out the 4 8D batteries I had ( OK, I paid some guys to yank them out) and only put 3 group 24's back in on each side "for the time being." That still leaves one 8D battery box empty on each side. Today I checked the water levels again for only the 4 time since I...
