  1. Name removal

Hey Y’all, tried the easy off method of lettering removal. It lightened the letters a bit, but not close to removing them. The lettering is original to the boat, an ‘87 41C…. Wondering what other solvents may work without damaging the paint. MEK? thanks, Moon Howler

  2. Ac run without pump

Old crusier unit split reverse cycle system 3 knob control. Friend ran it for about 5 mins with no water pump. Now only warm air coming out so he turned it off. Is there hope for it this weekend if the unit cools down? I don’t know acs at all. Thanks.

  3. Vacuflush

I have rebuilt vacuflush systems in the past. I’ve never seen a configuration like this. Does anyone know where the duck bill valves are located and what size? Having trouble building a vacuum. The pump just runs and runs

  4. Any have a problem running AC when motors are hot?

Our salon air conditioning seems to work fine when we are at the dock, but if we go out for a cruise and come back and try to turn the air on it just pops the breaker after about 30 seconds. Apparently with hot engine rooms it somehow makes it run harder? Does anyone else have this issue?...

  5. Refinishing Master Stateroom

The original 55 year old finish is beyond any saving so the SANDING has begun. I'm in the first stage which is sanding with 60 grit. Stage 2 - sanding with 120 grit. Stage 3 - vacuum, vacuum, vacuum. By the way, solid mahogany!

  6. Frozen turbo inboard stbd side

So recently we experienced a 500 rpm deficit on the stbd engine vs the port. Excessive black smoke as well. Found the stbd inboard turbo frozen in place unable to turn. Removed it and dropped it off to our local diesel tech who looked at it and said it was probably due to rust build up over time....

  7. Fire system. Out with the old…

I finally received the 3 Fireboys I ordered 2 1/2 months ago. Turns out Fireboy doesn’t stock any these days…. Took out the old CO bottle, which was in front of the genny with limited access. I had to use a multi tool to cut the pipes New Fireboys installed in the ERs with manual discharge...

  9. Hour meter issues

Does anyone have an idea why the hour meter on my port engine keeps running, even though the engine has been turned off and the ignition switch is off? I was doing something in the engine room today and heard this ticking and traced it to the hour meter which was running. So, it must have been...

  11. Need Diesel Sleuth for my Kabota

My tractor, M4900 ran great. Then while running, started to put out white smoke and stopped. Restart a no go and white smoke smells like diesel. Coolant is green with no contaminants. Oil is good color and no water. Had fluids and filters changed about 10 hrs ago. What could cause? Water,...

  12. window tech drawing?

PO "fixed" salon windows with silicone. Got them apart and cleaned up, but can't figure out how the glides, felt, etc go back in. A cross section would remove all doubt. I got replacement felt from Angie, but not nylon wear strips. Guidance? Thx in advance Mark

  14. PO Remedition

Yes the PO painted much of the aframosa panels white. I have been stripping and returning the interior to her former glory. Almost done with the lower passageway walls. He however painted the interior door panel, which are so well made I am hesitant to try and remove the stop strips holding them...

  15. Salon leak-questions about flybridge construction

I believe that I've managed to find all of the leaks dripping into the headliner above the galley stairs, but as I was sealing up the last of them I began to wonder about future leaks. Yes, I will be pulling all of the FB screws that hold the console and re-bedding them with 4200 plus checking for...

Found a pair of Mercruiser 454’s which, so far look promising. Old school, fresh water cooled. May bore. Main thing I’d like to find out is,...

  17. Galley Maid Macerator Pump Rebuild

Is there any reason to use RAZ Marine over just sending my pumps back to Galley Maid for a rebuild? One pump leaks and the other just hums. I don't really want to rebuild them myself but I would if I thought I could be successful doing it. What are your experiences? Thanks,

  19. Marquipt wheels for stairs

I didn't want to pay the huge price for a new set of wheels from Marquipt, so I purchased a set from Grainger (only $25.00 each). My problem is that the stems fit great, but the friction washer is too large. I took the washers off and there isn't quite enough friction to hold them in. The fit...
