  1. Who makes custom boat sofas now?

I bought one back in 2005 from Eagle something or other in North Carolina and it was great with storage underneath the seat. But its time for a new one that that place is no longer in business. Any suggestions?

  3. 8v71 antifreeze/coolant recommendations

I'm sure this has been been discussed before, but there are hundreds of posts including these words. What is the consensus on coolant and/or additives for DDs, and how much do I need to have on hand? What is the best way to drain the old stuff for proper disposal? The green stuff looks...

  4. 671TI noise

I just finished complete cooling system service, hose replacement and commissioning of the 671TI's in our 37. On startup of the starboard engine I hear a slight whine type noise at the front of the engine around the crank pulley. Seems to catch up with engine speed but not directly proportional to...

  5. Datamarine Gauges

I have these two depth and speed gauges on my flybridge. They don't work and I am trying to remove them. They have a ring on the back and I was able to remove them. However the gauges don't want to slide out the front of the dash. Anyone have experience removing these gauges? Might they be...

  6. Hatteras shore power questions

Boat is 1985 45c. Dockside post has 50A/120V. Boatside inputs are 30A/120v and 50A/120v-240v. I have been running on the 30A for some time but very limited on what I can power at one time. I have a 50A/120v-240v cord. If I get a 50A/120V adapter to go from post to cord, will that get me...

  11. Battery cables 4-0 seems like overkill

My 48 year old battery cables are failing. I cannot find what the amperage draw on my Delco Remy starter is. The run from 8 D batteries to starter is about 12 feet. My mechanic feels like 4 0 is unnecessary and probably2 0 would suffice. Any info would be greatly appreciated

  12. Interior light dimming - 2000 Hatteras 60 Convertible

Hello All, I am trying to convert my interior lighting from halogen to led and have some questions about the method used to arrive at the 24v AC at the overhead lamps. My technician tells me there are several 110 to 30v transformers in a forward locker, and it appears one of two things is...

  13. Check your policy before the storm...

I was laying in bed last night before 4AM - couldn't sleep with a lot of concerns about the markets. My phone pings and I see an email from Geico saying my boat policy has changed. So, I click the link and see the only change is to my Hull #. They changed an "S" to a 5 - so it was changed to be...

  14. Question Air Conditioning Circulation Pumps Problem

Hi, my husband and I bought a 1988 65MY extended to 73’ CPMY with twin 2010 Series 60 MTU’s. We liveaboard and love the vessel! Many updates completed, but issue Friday with AC circulation pumps caught us off-guard. Two Oberdorfer 104M-06 pumps positioned together under port side floor of engine...

  15. Permanent Dock Steps

O.K. - this is a dumb one - at least for the DIY'ers on the site. I'd like to make a set of permanent dock steps on my dock, which is a wall dock (port side tie). The idea would be to make a set that were 36"s high x 36"s wide. The length is unimportant. I'm envisioning a setup that would have...
