  2. 6v71 tib

Are there any reasons why 6V71 TIB's might be less desireable than an inline 6? I know about the TIB part and having owned a great set of inline TIB's I am not worried about that issue. RC

We have pumped out both holding tanks a few months ago and the full light on each holding tank has always worked. In addition all our heads seem to flush a bit...

Changed the zincs on the 8v92. Had a problem getting one of the zincs out on the discharge side of the radiator. Had to take the casting off the radiator. 7. Using a switch to change depth gauges on single sensor?

My two Garmin chartplotters (lower Helm and FB) share depth data through the Garmin network. I have a separate Raymarine ST40 depth gauge on the FB Helm with it's own transducer as a back up but do not have one at the lower helm. I would like backups in both positions but don't want to install a...

  8. Well pump leak while on dock water

My freshwater system uses a Dayton 3/4 hp well pump and works great. The dockside water enters the line after the well pump and the pump operates as a check valve so as not to pressurize the water tanks. All is well except the well pump has begun slowly leaking while the dockside water is on. It...

  9. Running gear and spray zinc coating

  11. reverse polarity detection of shore power circuit

I was wondering if the reverse polarity alarm and light need any fuse protection? My boat simply has it wired to check for voltage between neutral and ground. Also, since your not to have any neutral-ground bonds in the boat, does not the reverse polarity light and alarm in a way make a small...

  12. Fly Bridge Hatch Repair - More Bad Balsa Coring

Lilly Marie has had a leak around the hatch going up to the Fly Bridge and the problem graduated to the point that the deck forward of the hatch rim had collapsed. It took a while to get in the mood to tackle another coring repair after the aft deck and cabin top projects, but the hatch was...

  13. Question about hull speed fuel usage VS fuel usage while on a plane

I am new to mid-sized power boats. I am considering a 46C. I was very surprised at the amount of fuel these diesel engines consume, particularly while on a plane (twice as much / 2gal per mile!) I have been on center consoles most of my life and generally you get better fuel economy when you get...

My tank hasn't been inspected since 1986. I assume it is CO2, is that correct? Is it worth having it inspected and hydro tested or is it toast?
