  1. In dager of losing a Naiad stabilizer fin ?

During my last hauldout I noticed that my port stabilizer is completly free. i can move it without effort and does not move the hydraulic ram. I m worried that I could loose the fin since I belive the torque actuator arm is what holds the shaft and the fin . Should I be worried .?

  2. need your opinion/advice

Refinishing the doors and running into a few roadblocks. I used a paint remover to get varnish off the doors and the veneer sections didn't do so well. I tried to sand initially and sanded thru the veneer (extremely thin) so tried thru remover. We ended up removing lower veneer panels on thru salon...

  4. NAIAD bearings

Getting ready to remove the fins and replace seals and inspect the bearings. Water has been getting past the seals on the port side for 30 days. My question is how much effort should be required to rotate the fins in place ,to check the feel of the bearings? Presently They do not move with the...

  7. Frig smell

I made a huge blunder. I pulled my refrigerator out to pull a cable and forgot to reset the circuit breaker back on. Consequently the bait in frig has fouled. I cleaned it out with soap and Clorox. Is there any way to save this frig.

  8. Replacement windows

I have had rplacement windows made by Waterway Systems in Sarasota, Fl--941-752-3554--and there design is superior to the old Hatteras design for sliding windows. The widow frames were powder coated to my boat color. They did an excellent job. They ship world wide and make windows for model...

  9. Anyone use these Imtra Sigma lights yet?

I just saw a review of these that was very strong. I purchased 4 and am going to give them a try. Basically they are a variable voltage (up to 40) two wire LED fixture so you can use existing dimmers instead of rewiring with the 4 wires on the older Imtra Hatteras lights. Ig=f they are...

  11. Effectively fitting Jabsco pump elbows?

My Raw Water Jabsco pump has 2" discharge elbow with four bolts to secure it, however the suction elbow which is 2.5 " has only two bolt holes diagonally spaced to secure onto the pump flange which has four threaded holes. I guess they may have (originally fitted or retrofitted) the inlet/suction...

  12. Conflicting opinions

Hey guys, I have 12v71tis. I live in Boston and am shrink wrapped for the winter. We are live a boards so my boat is heated. Some have told me to run my engines once every couple of weeks for a half hr or so while others have said not to so I'm not sure what is best. Any thoughts? Thanks.

  17. DD 6/71 NA - Removing the heat exchanger core from expansion tank

I've opened up my cooling system. the coolant side looks clean and blockage free. Te coolant color looks pinkish and I'll test it with testing strips tomorrow. 18. Love the block heaters

installed the Kim Hotstarts over the summer and just got to really try them this week. 19. Block heater capacity DD 6-71

Are 400W 115V block heaters sufficient to keep the DD 6-71 warm, not hot as I do not intend on heating the engine room by keeping the block heaters on, just to facilitate the starting in winter when i kick the engines every couple of weeks. From your experience, how long would it take to warm the...

  20. Radar up-date

I just installed a new radar in my 1995 43 cnv. I should have noticed before butt!! My new radar is 24 volts and there is nothing in the vessel that requires that voltage. My first thought is to put 2 12 volt batteries inside my console and add a battery charger to keep them up. AGM batteries...
