I'm having trouble removing the three pipe plugs from the top plate on the fuel tank. The openings are for return fuel on diesels and plugged for the gas option. Twenty years old now. Any ideas on how to soften up the old pipe dope? Or maybe leave the existing and drill and thread new ones?
