  1. Adding 3rd 30 amp service

I am in the process of enclosing the aft deck so it can be air conditioned. It will only be used while at the dock. The current AC inlet powers 2 self contained (16K ,9K) units. Pedestal setup is 50 splitter into 2 30amp and it has an unused 30 amp socket. Can I just run a separate 30amp cord...

  2. 70 Motoryacht - Mechanicals under the Floor

I am in the process of searching for a new used Hatteras MY in the 60-70 range and have inspected several already, all of which were late 1980s boats. We love the layouts, old classic lines, and of course the quality of construction these boats have. My concern on all them so far has been...

  5. Holding Tank Monitors

I am converting my holding tanks from aux fuel tanks back into holding tanks. This has been a challenge but the good new is NO SMELL. I have 2 small 2 1/2" red canisters of sort at each tank which I am assuming are the Tank monitors. They are labeled "PAR HYDRO-AIR" and have a cooper tube out the...

  9. Cleaning wood walls

What is a good product to use on my walls? I get the mildew on them and wondered what folks here use to clean them. 11. Shoutout for Teakdecking Systems

Just a shoutout for the nice folks at Teakdecking Systems. They’ve officially “closed” their factory retail store in Sarasota, but Eric is still there, and happy to sell to local folks walking in. Random lengths of teak, silane caulk, their invaluable reefing hook (best 20 bucks I ever spent), and...

  13. 1988 Paint Question

What brand on paint was used in 1988, and is the non-skid the same paint with an additive or is it "non-skid paint". I'm getting ready to re-paint the non-skid surfaces and gleaning information. I have repaired gel coat boats and used acetone, for cleaning and prep, but not sure on a Hatteras.

  14. Prop calculator, 4 blade versus 5 blade

Can any members compare these two propeller sizes and tell me if they are roughly equal? 27x30 4 blade compared to 22x26 5 blade. as soon as the extra blade is added to the equation it seems all bets are off for comparing them from the info I've found. .

  17. Flybridge deck question.

My flybridge needs medical attention. There are cracks in it. I suspect the bridge itself with it's 1168 screws may not be 100% tight either. Good news is that the boat has been under roof for the last 20 years and rarely ever is there water on there, so there is no major water intrusion. Surveyor...

  19. Slane hull vents

Two full days of cutting, sanding, fitting, and swearing behind us. New hull vents finally went in. This was about as big a job as I expected it to be. Good update for the boat, I think.
