  1. GFO Flax math ?

Our 37C has 1.75" shafts and takes 3/8"square flax. How much (length) do I need? The blueprint shows three rings per shaft. I ask because GFO sells the fiber packing in 24" lengths. Thanks Hal

  2. Cockpit panals

The two panals in our cockpit at the corners, where the cleats are at are both broken and The Admiral has stated I need to replace them... (The results of "non boating people" who put dock lines on the cleat and not thru the support ring). As they are curved, wondering where I can get them....

  3. 36 c

I am in the process of purchasing a 36 c. I have had the oil anaylsis returned and the starboard engine showed an elevated lead level of 17 ppm. The port engine was 6 ppm. The engines are cat 3208n. The lab wants to resample by 125 hrs. I am a bit concerned, should I be?

  4. Feul tank vent

Yesterday while waxing the hullside I decided to blow a little compressed air into my Port fuel tank vent and with the deck fill cap off the air went in fine, with it on the air rushed back at me in the vent line. Is this normal? I have a refilling problem with this line, always difficult to get...

  6. Twinscan Gauges

Does anyone know of a source for Floscan's Twinscan guages? Not the fuel flow ones but the others - specifically gear pressure with a 0-400 psi range. Their web-site doesn't mention them at all so I'm wondering if they still make them.

I have a 91, 70CYPY, I have vacuflush toilets. As I am 75 years of age I would like to think of raising the heigth of the toilets. Well we are finished rebuilding the port and the stb should be done on tuesday, everything is going smoothly so far. 10. Anchor Chain

I spent Spring Break at the beach with the kids and without the boat. I got really bored and read Chapman's about anchoring and other stuff. According to Chapman's, for my 43 DC I should have 20 feet of chain between my anchor and nylon line. I presently have about 8 feet but have had some...

  12. Fresh Water Leaks

I just recommisioned the fresh water system on my 56 MY. For the first time in 8 years, I have fresh water leaks. Okay, I finally got to the battery box demolition project that has been on the todo list since I bought the boat. 16. 53MY side door locks

Anybody know of a better method to lock the side doors than the oem latch? I'd like to put something on that is more secure, easy to use, and not unsightly. The oem latch when locked can be easily jerked open by an 8 year old. I don't want to use a padlock and hasp. Is there anything else?

  17. Spray Control

Salt water residue on decks and windows drives me nuts. Can any Hatts run over 15 knots or so without spray getting on board?? Does greater forward flare on newer boats keep more spray off?? The major reason I began cruising at 10 or 11 knots instead of 16 or so was absence of spray onboard. I...

  19. 37C advice

Hi.I need to R&R the center tank fuel fill and waste deck fitting/pumpout, port side on a 1979 37C. Do I have to remove the rectangular air vent box on the hull to get access to the clamps? 20. 1980's vintage tank level guages

There are mechanical fuel/water level guages located on the bronze fitting plates on both of my fuel tanks and on the water tank.
