  1. Generator voltage oscillation

I have two 20 KW Kohler generators , one of them has just started to vary the voltage slightly, but enough to trigger the AC warning. Switching to the other generator stops the warning. The engine does not seem to change rpm , although I should check the rpm with a tachometer. The bushes have been...

  5. Main engine vent covers

In purchasing a 67’ cockpit MY, my surveyor suggested that when the vessel is resting in its slip to cover from the inside of the engine room the vents on each side. He suggested it is like storing your vehicles in your garage with the roll up doors always open; that allows dust and other similar...

  6. helm chair to sailfish chair

Is it possible to add a gimbal to a helm chair and make it into a sailfish chair. The price differential between the two, in the more expensive chairs (Scopinich) seems way out of line.

I have a Leece-Neville alt on my 1979 6v92ta engine. PO painted over everything on the damn engine and I cannot read the model, even after cleaning off the label. Hatteras used some type of translucent resin in the hatches. Most are a yellowish color mine are blue. Anyone know what type of resin they used? Must be something UV resistant since mine have lasted 56 years.

I was hoping that someone had Digital / CAD hatch or floor plan for 53 MY to share. Yes, I did indeed use the words Digital in regard to a Hatteras. We don't mean to offend!!! It's just with the new 53 in the yard 800 miles away getting bottom painted and the shafts repacked we have some planning...

  14. Rant for the day.

My spiritual gift is being able to break more than I fix! Changed the Racor filters today, and decided to remove and clean the bowls as well. The drain plug o'rings didn't survive, probably original to the boat.. no problem, ill just order some from Racor... of course, only in a kit from Racor......

  15. Oil in bilge on top of a lot of water. Best way to remove?

Does anyone have any tricks on how to get oil out of the bilge when it is floating on a bunch of water? I have heard of using a shop vac and skimming the oil off the top as one option - hate the idea of trashing a shop vac though. Just wondering if there are any better ways. I don't want...

  16. Re-building cockpit chairs

I know this site has lots of hands on carpenter and fabricators so hopefully I can get a few good suggestions on my chairs.
