  2. House water system start-up

This past May I gave my 1979 43DC to my nephew and his family. I had not used the pressure water system in 20 years - only used the marina's dock side water. I did drain the tank before shutting it down. Now the nephew wants to use the system. What things should he check and look for? Any thoughts?...

Before Start-After Start-Before Shutdown etc.... It contains items out of the Hatteras manual and my add ons. It is updated regularly. I print it, I...

Question for all of you long time Hatteras Owners: are there any insurance companies that you can recommend for the older Hatts? We are looking at a few different boats in the New England area (all in the 1980-1989 vintage) and we are having a hard time getting providers to cover a boat of that...

  15. Zincs

After experiencing some speed loss for a given power setting I had a diver check out the subaquatic portion of Lady Kay. He reported the paint in good shape (it was done a year ago) but the metal dirty. Enough to where, in his opinion, it would cause the noted degradation of performance. Some boats...

  16. Shotgun Fuse mystery-advice please

In 10+ years of owning our Hatt, I have burned, not blown, two (2) 240 volt 50 amp shotgun fuses at the power inlet, both in the last 6 months in the same marina. After the first, I had a great mechanic/electrician replace the source 2 plugs with smartplugs. New cords, and use 2 when entire...

No, not my mind, that's a given just ask the Admiral. (Pot, kettle and all that but I digress.) The boat lists to port. It has had it to varying degrees since I've owned it. I'm looking to buy a 1987 63 Hatteras MY that has the full beam salon and small aft deck. Has anyone ever moved the aft bulkhead forward to make a more open aft? I would need to modify the aft set of side windows in the salon as well. Right now its just an idea and I wanted to ask if anyone...

  20. Starting battery capacity for 9.8HP Tohatsu 4 Stroke outboard

Hi, I am looking to buy AGM staring battery for my 9.8Hp Tohatsu 4 Stroke outboard. I do not want to go 'oversized' because of weight and price, so what sort of capacity should I be looking at? The engine starts easily when cold by pulling the cord, but it has the starter wired (now) so I'd like to...
