I’ve had a clogged air conditioner condensate drain overflow the air handler’s drain pan and soak a varnished bulkhead in a cabin below. It’s still wet- but I suspect it will the stain will stay. Any tips on this situation?

For purposes of discussion, 1986 54 MY with 8v92TA's. Assume I am an idiot and mechanically unskilled. Port tachs stopped working at both helm stations. Glendenning quit engaging at same time. I am guessing failure at sender. Where is the sender and what should I look for? What type of...

  8. Whale Gulper IC installed

Bought a Whale Gulper IC about 6 months ago to resolve the unsatisfactory “bilge as a shower sump” situation. Finally got around to installing before company arrived last week. Four of them stayed on the boat at the dock, so it got a workout, and worked perfectly. The picture is rotated 90 deg...

  9. Wet Ever made it

RonP the owner of a 63’ Yacht Fisher asked Dan, Jeff and I to take a 6 hour cruise from the Bay Area to Ron’s new home in Stockton California. We ate, indulged in alcoholic beverages and made it safe and without incident. The temperature was warm@ 104° but the water was calm as glass. When we...

I have a pair of ZF BW190´s behind two 12v-71 Detroits with Glendining mechanical controls. The port gear is slow to engage/respond, doesn't have the "pop" into gear. Symptoms started suddenly, pressure remains a steady 225 idle/250 under load., temp. oil is clean and topped off. I pulled the...

  11. Barret Stabilizers?

Looking at a boat that has them installed but the owner is not sure if they work. Neither is the captain who runs her. 13. Alternative to Fireboy shut down systems

During the refit and repower I have eliminated the old CO system in favor of three separate Xintex Fireboy bottles, one per machinery space. Option nr 1 is using a single Fireboy shut down module. I don’t like the idea of shutting down both engine and gensets for a discharge in single...

  15. Hynautic leak repair

I’ve tracked down a slow leak in my hynautic system to the quick disconnect in the line between the reservoir and the autopilot servovalve. There’s a few drops of oil in the bilge under the fitting, and the slightest lateral pressure on that collection of fittings produces a drop of fluid, so I...

Most my cruising is at hull speed. My boat has 8-92's with a design WOT of 2300. I know the turbos need to be spooled up every so often, but nowhere is it written how often, to what RPM and for how long. My last long trip (30 hours at 1300 rpm), I ended with a run up to 1700 RPM for 15...

  19. DD series 60 in a 78 / 46 ft convertible

Hi, Has anyone any experience in whether you can fit 60 series into a 46 convertible? I am concerned they may be to high and not have enough room from the top of the engines to the underside of the floor hatches in the saloon?
