  1. Turbo Failure

When I pulled up the carpet I noticed a small exhaust leak coming from between the exhaust and air side on the port outboard turbo. I pulled it off and low and behold their were metal parts inside and a lot of oil on the exhaust side. 2 pieces found inside the turbo are laying on the air inlet...

  4. Cockpit Mezzanine & Tuna Tube Winter Project

Ok, so trying to get my final plans together for two pretty major wintertime projects on SOUTHPAWS. I'll be doing both these projects in tandem so only one single huge mess will be made on the boat. Hope to finish both projects off before april-ish. Be forewarned, these projects may upset the...

I have a pair of VG2 vacuum generators on my boat. Both have been untouched for 17 years since new and one of the systems is starting to leak vacuum. 9. Best wax that won't streak from rain

Just spent the better part of the morning scrubbing and wiping down the boat today from last nights tropical rains. I have a great detailer but whatever wax he uses works well for short rains but when we get continuous long rain it shows marks and streaks. About 60% comes off but there are still...

Hey guys just picked up a 1970 Hatteras 36c found some water damage on the lower parts of the windows in the plywood. Seems to be all cosmetic nothing structural. Greetings from a new forum member! Long time boater/sailor. We live in SE Florida and have a 80 foot dock. We currently have a 37' Intrepid because we don't have enough free time to "go slow." I am retired but my wife plans to work for at least three more years. When she retires we...

  15. Purasan and Water Pressure

I've installed a Purasan EX waste treatment system on our 43DC. It appears the fill time and resulting water level of the tablet dispenser is dependent on the water pressure, so I have to reset it differently for dock water and for water from the water tank. Further, the water pump kicks on at a...

Went to install Maretron focus tube for NMEA2k tank sensor and found all 3 water tank baffles laying on the bottom of the tank. my guess is they've been there for a long time, fortunately no leaks. 18. New throttle/transmission cables. Which brand?

I have had an opportunity to compare the Teleflex TFXtreme 3300/33C and the Glendinning 33C cables side-by-side and there is no comparison. The difference is amazing. The Glendinning are far superior and they are sold by Sams.

  20. 32V Vs 12-24-36V Inverter

My 32V inverter that connected to the house bank is dead. In researching replacements (OK- Researching Outbacks) I start to questions the role of a 32V inverter. All our 32-volt element, pumps, and lights are running directly off the house bank as is. The Fridge, outlets and everything you would...
