Help needed allison MH 20 transmission oil filter

Does any body have tips on how to put together the transmission oil filter assembly?

Do I need to use both o'rings?

I have assembled the filter unit more than three times, and every time when I start the engine I have a continuous oil spill through the lower filter side.

Any comments welcome.

Discard the rubber gasket. There is a paper gasket between the housing and cannister. Remove old gasket, clean and install new gasket. Replace seal washer between bolt and cannister using only a copper gasket. then reassemble and torque bolt to 60 FT lbs.

Make sure you check for leaks at "power". I had an incident were I lost a gal. and a half of oil and noticed the oil pressure gage fluctuate. Caught it just in time. Needed to re-torque the port side.

Ditto on losing gallon+ of oil with power on. BIG MESS! Torque that bolt!
