I sold my 1967 41 last fall to the owner of the Island Queen Ferry based in Falmouth , Mass. He repowered
over the winter with YanMar's .. I think they were 400's.
He told a friend of mine that the 41 now does 22-24 knts.
Don't forget you have to increase the size of those
1 1/2 " shafts.
Interestingly another owner bought the 853's and put
them in his Pacemaker.
Try to reach him via internet . His name is CVharlie Bardelis and he is a great guy . I am sure he could tell you some good advise on what he learned doing the repower.

I re-powered my 1967 41c360 with 420 Cummins Twin Disc 5061 gears with a 7 degree down angle, 2/1 gear, 2 inch shaft, & 26X33 prop. Had to change the struts to get the two inch shaft. The engine sits at 5 degrees which puts them under the original floor. At 2600 we get about 31.7 knots 2400 27 knots and 2250 25 knots. If interested can give more detail tmissroon@aol.com
