My dad and I are looking at a 1968 Hatteras 41 double cabin. Both engines and transmissions are repaired and have 2 hours since the repair. The engines are 6v53's. The railing is brand new and the top is brand new too. The boat hasn't been moved like in 1 1/2 years. On the inside is the problem. Its plain. It needs a new carpet, new kitchen, some wood is rotten and all the wood has to be painted in varnish. In other words we have to make all the interior new including the bathrooms because it has no holding tanks. On the outside is good. The guy is asking for $35,000. My dad is thinking of offering $20,000. Here in Puerto Rico everyone likes boats that fly and this is a 14 knot cruise boat. What do you think of the offering prize. If anyone want to see some pics of the boat give me your email. Thanks. Mike

I had the same boat (it was a 1967, to). It was a great boat. Ours didn't have a flybridge so it was an extremely good sea boat. We had the same engines. The ones with 8v53's were a little quicker, but we cruised almost 100 per year for a while up in New England. It was fast enough.

The interior isn't a big deal in that boat to redo. It's pretty straight forward and most of the system are pretty simple compared to the larger and newer ones.

The price doesn't seem too bad, especially if you can get it for about 20.

I'd like to see pics..kevinmillman303@comcast.net

Thanks, and good luck
