Fuel Sending Unit

I have a 1979 43DC ... the rear fuel tank sending unit won't register beyond 1/2 tank ... so I'm assuming that the float has gone bad ... any suggestions on replacing the float? Thanks.

Sam's has replacement units. I believe they are made by Tempo.
