I know these engines have a history of leaking oil but I'm curious how much is normal.

I seem to be losing about a gallon each for every 10 hours of run time. Engines have about 1300 hours on them. Much of the seepage is coming from around the dip stick with other minor losses at assorted gaskets.

Would Walker Air-Seps help?

I could just keep topping off and replacing boat diapers but there must be a better way.

Are they turbos or Naturals? Check your air box drains and crankcase vent. You may have too much crankcase pressure due to blow-by or a pluged screen/vent. Get a manometor and check the crankcase pressure at the dip stick tube. I believe it should be about 1.7'' Hg at idle for a "Natural". The spec is in the back of the DD manual.
