Jim,
You've got a great feature article in this months Soundings. Nice pictures too! Just goes to show that old Hatts never die.

It is very kind of you to mention that. I am delighted with it as you might imagine. The story was written about 18 months ago; they bought the article and sent a photographer who was very good and helped me set the boat up. The vertical shot was actually shot hoping it would be a cover, but they decided to use the sailboat which if you ask me is a MUCH better cover shot. Since the photos, I finished restoring the Hatteras settee that goes in the salon and did a few other things, not big changes but more in the way of completing loose ends. It has been an enjoyable and fulfilling process and at the end I have a great boat to show for it.
By the way, I found out that the issue was out by Soundings sending me a box of twenty copies free, before it was mailed out generally. They are generous and imaginative people and I appreciate very much their running the feature and taking so much trouble to make my boat look so good.

Finally got my issue in the mail on Monday but just now was able to read your article. Boy she looks great! I had a 1971 38c that was quite similar; really loved the way that boat drove!

Very well written article that I thoroughly enjoyed. Congrats Jim!

...the ex-fiancee is still available, in Florida, so I hear, but she hasn't aged nearly as well as the boat has. The Hatteras is getting younger....she's going the other direction:lol
