Yesterday our 36 Mainship sold (pending survey, of course) to the first person who looked at it. This was great news because we had decided to sell our current boat before proceeding with our plans to purchase a 53MY.

There are several 53's we are looking at, including one down on the Chesapeake that Jim Rosenthal previewed for us a while back. We're really looking forward to getting a 53 up (down?) here to Northport, NY not later than the end of October. Hope it works out.

I'm sure I'll be asking even more 53MY questions on this site once we get the boat.

Regards to all,

MikeP

congrats!! it's a great feeling. mine just sold, too. closed last week, and it still resides behind my home (for now)...quite odd to see it and know that i can't use it!

bought my 53c a couple of months ago, and it's going through quite the transformation, a total and complete refit/facelift, inside out.

good luck with your new direction. as with me, moving from a 35 (Henriques) to a 53 is like going from single A to the majors.

There is a nice 1973 53 located in St Claire MI on Yacht world. I made a deal on the boat but was not willing to spend 37500.00 to get it to lake texoma. I wound up buying a 53ED on my lake. Good luck. Sincerely JIMMY
