After much debate, let's determine the consensus once and for all. What's your preference?

No contest - RACOR CCV.

The Walker is the ugly stepsister by comparison, and has a habit of fouling your air intake system as well.

I like this one: What's an AirSep CCV?

Did you put that choice there just for me? :D

I had planned to install airseps when I bought our Hatt in '04 after reading all the marketing copy from Airsep (standard equip on lots of boats). But by accident I found the BOatdiesel site and after reading all the info there about the airseps and problems with them, I opted for the CCvs.

Several of the folks on BD had experience with airseps and dumped them for CCVs with resulting improvements in oil blowby and cleanliness of the intake system (turbo blades, supercharger vanes, etc).

Well yeah, did you cast a vote?

I'm kind of curious if ANYONE is happy with their AirSeps.

Ang - yes, I added the last option on the poll just for you. (insert smiling, winking emoticon here. Hey mods, when will the smilies come back on line?)

I wouldn't really know what to vote. I have AirSeps with no experience with anything else, and I don't know much about the AirSep system except that everyone tells me to get rid of it and go with the Racor CCV. On this one....I'm admittedly just a puppet. What are K&N filters?

What are K&N filters?
Think of your airseps without crankcase breather or coalesing return line. Airseps essentially build their system around a K&N filter - then adds $700 to the price.

Ang,

If you go to the thresd "rebuilding our 12-71s - photos" and go down to the small pic I posted of our 8v71s, the filters attached to the turbos are K&Ns. they were about $45 each. K&N makes filters that will fit nearly anything!

Do the Racor CCV's lower the case pressure like the Walker's ?

Yes but (1) not as much, and (2) they don't pullover oil and crap into the intakes.
