OMG, I bet Tom Slane had nothing to do with it.

Probably a good refit for someone who loves the Carver lines but wants something seaworthy as well. Takes all kinds.

So "shes" in St Augustine.... That puts her about 35 miles from me....

Yippppeeeee, Heck maybe I should take my little Hatt by her and let her see what a REAL Hatt is supposed to look like :D

That is really sad. And to think just how much money some idiot spent just to mess up a classic Hatteras. There should be a punishment for defacing a work of art like that.

All that misguided money spent, and the engine room looks like a derelict.

This is a prime example of wasted money on butchering a boat. Some genius with more money than he knew what to do with decided he knows what a boat ought to look like. A quick search with Yachtworld.com reveals that boats from 60'-70', 1973-1975, all motoryacht, are listed from $569,000 down to $225,000.

Guess which one is priced at $225,000!

Just goes to show (IMHO) that exotics generally do not hold their value.

Hope it's not some poor widow desperately trying to unload this to fund her very survival!

My thoughts exactly!

eeeewwwww.....

someone didnt' follow Bill Clinton's advice : do not inhale ! :-)

Another board-certified moron with more money than sense...WAY more money than sense. Hope he took the nameplates off.

I have been watching that Hatteras for a long time. I could not believe that it was a LRC when I read the listing. It is amazing what happens when money is not an object for people. Something tells me that it will end up in a scrapyard. What a shame for that vessel, but there is no going back now.

Wonder what it would take to get her to look like a boat again....Taking the wing off is a good start.

I think if you cut the back straight down just past the lower part of the window (the point), you would wind up with a 53ed look again. Of course, the interior of the upper salon/pilothouse area would need to be gutted and made to look like a boat again. The Brothel look inside of a classic Hatt just doesn't seem right.

Maybe not a bad deal for under $200k.

I don't think it was a 53LRC. I think it was a 53ED or a 53 cockpit.

Boy just think of all the Saws-all blades you would go thru in just the first week  That wing and those back vents that make it look like a cruise ship is where I would start!!! I know are taste change some person to person but that is Holy Crap

Note the listing says "After 15 years of customizing" I'd hate to see the results if they'd really put some effort into it. Is there a smiley for gagging? :-p

We've seen this boat at the Conch House in St. Augustine. She should only be viewed in dim lighting. Not a pretty sight in harsh daylight.

We should show this thing to CRAZYBIRD Randy I bet he'd like it :D come on Pat call him on it I'm sure he'll get you a happy meal for turning him on to it :p

As bad as it is Someone loves her..Not a bad buy for live aboard?

Julie,
THATS not the boat next to the fuel dock at the Conch House is it?

Carl,
South Florida and Tenn have Randy already.... Let's not expand his area too much. It's very nice and easy going and relaxing up here. But if the boat is the one I think it is.... It WOULD fit Randy's demented way of life though

Every time I stop in St. Aug (Chonch House) for fuel that "Hatteras" is there and has been there for years. It's sad isn't it? But I guess it just goes to show that you can't always spend your way out of the MHP. (That's Mobile Home Park for all y'all who didn't know any better.)
