    Question Hour meter fuses blowing?

Any ideas? The port hour meter on the 6V92's went through three fuses in the past year and the starboard just blew one. It looks like the fuses only protect the meters and they are 15A fuses. Seems a lot for just a meter. ideas anyone?

If the hour meters don't spin, you aren't wearing your motors out!

But the fuel burn in GPH sure looks bad.

If the meters draw 15 amps I would loose them and think of the fuel savings. Like running the car with th AC off. That could get you another .00002613934 NMPG

True, divide by 0 and you get infinity

Definitely have something wrong there. Don't know what kind of hour meter you have but the common ones like say Hobbs draw way under 1 amp. Spec says about 2 watts or at 32V, about 0.0625 amps for the Hobbs

If you have a Sentry charger, the hour meter circut also shuts the charger off. Maybe want to check that circut.

analog meters I assume. high internal mechanical resistance perhaps or a temporary short from chafed wire somewhere. i had an sentry charger before throwing it over board and it did not have any circuit to shut it down when engines started/alternators were charging, it just sensed full voltage.

Check again! The Sentry has two blue wires on a terminal strip. They are for the cutout circut, and Hatteras DID make use of them.
