What's the big deal about this paint?

I don't know about the "offshore" stuff, but the VC17 w/ Biolux is great stuff in freshwater. It is really thin and does not build up and it makes for a super smooth bottom with no growth.

What about sea hawks, shark skin bottom paint. Anyone know anything about that paint?

It is a vinyl paint. I guess ir works good, but folks keep confusing it with VC-17. The VC-17 is as thin as acetone and works great in fresh water. We have it on our 36C and it is in Miami. We pulled the boat after one year, 6 months of which were in salt water. It looked like new and hardly needed a preassure wash job. We re-coated it then,(March 2007), and so far the diver says it still looks great.

Sky, so far it seems to work just as good in Miami salt water also.

But will you have to strip and grind it off someday?
