    Hey Mario,

Since I see you're getting internet while over in the stadium bay......hey, if you can help me lower my tender (not hard, but it takes two people - one to operate the control on the flybridge, and one to guide it away from the boat with a line from the aft deck), I can dinghy myself out to your boat and back today, rather than you having to come and get me and take me back. Viva, the Ferretti on the end, is leaving for the day and I'll have room to offload the tender on my starboard side. Viva will be gone until about 5PM today. I don't plan to put the dinghy back up for a while - going to park her over at the dinghy corral to do a little work on her too. Looking forward to that pina colada!

I use a cingular Edge card in my notebook... it's very close to DSL/CAble modem speeds... but for occasional use like you, teh cell phone modem is cheaper (most wireless plans run between 50 and 70 a month)

Hey Angela... why don't you take the whaler over to NNH harbor tonight for dinner.. we're going to meet mario there ? or maybe you can drive over... if you come in the park before sunset, you can stay till the restaurant closes...

or you could take sanctuary out...

I have data on my T-Mobile account; its "EDGE" (~200kbps raw data rate max) down and ~50kbps up.

The latency bites though. Its ok for browsing but anything interactive isn't so good. On the other hand its cheap - $20/month unlimited use on top of my voice plan, and it gives my phone internal email connectivity all on its own too, so for me its worth it.

I'd like faster, but I can't justify what Verizon and Cingular want for their "3g" networks, and they're not everywhere I go anyway. The EDGE stuff works most anywhere - it'll even work internationally BUT there is a per-megabyte (and its quite high) charge outside the US.
