Reading all the fuel and tank threads, it struck me that my fuel capacity seems much higher than the other boats of my generation. Based on the specs when I purchased her, she holds 600 gallons in two 300 gallon tanks. Based on my flow scans, tank monitors (I know, not all that accurate) and fueling habits, I've never been given reason to think any differently. I'm pretty sure I put more than 400 gallons in her when I got her, but I've never let the tanks go much below my perception of 1/2 full, and that was 5 years ago.
Looking at all of the '68's I see on YachtWorld, I find all of them to hold 400 gallons. Was there a factory option for more capacity? Perhaps I don't have original tanks?
I guess I could measure the outside dimensions to figure this one out.....

You can either measure, as you posted, or call Hatteras with your HIN number and see what tankage they installed...
