    871 TI vs. 871 N?

I am looking at a couple 58YFs. Mine will be used mostly for family cruising. Any opinions on the DD naturals as opposed to the TIs?

    Re: 871 TI vs. 871 N?

search some of the older threads, that comes up frequently.

if you want/need to frequently cruise on plane at ... 15 to 17 kts then TIs are the only way you'll get that speed. On the downside you have more maintenance becasue of the Turbos and Intercoolers...

Naturals are 9kts boats. simple. while you may see advetised cruise speeds of 13kts, you burn 2 to 3 times the fuel for 4 extra knots... doens't make any sense.

what works best for you depends on where and how you will use the boat. In any failry protected body of water or for fairly short distances, 9kts is great. If your typical cruising involves longer distances or exposed water where rolling maybe an issue, then turbos maybe a better option.
