    13' whaler sling height?

I have a reach problem with my davit, in the picture below is shown how low I would have to set the sling in order to be able to lift high enough. This will increase tension on the sling / and lift points quite a bit. Just wondering if anyone has connected with a sling set this low.
I don't know what kind of forces the attachment points can safely take.
I thought I had info on max angle the sling could be adjusted but can't find it.

Any thoughts on the strength of the attachment points on a 130 super sport? Can I set the sling up at this angle and safely lift the whaler? It's about 850 lbs with motor and fuel.

My Hatt has a new owner so I can't go measure but I had a 13' Whaler and the attachment points were two at the stern and two just forward of the centre console.
That was the balance point. The spreader ended up just behind the windshield on the console. The lift was an old hydraulic unit and raised and spun the boat no problem.

    Re: 13' whaler sling height?

For mine I reached out to Boston Whaler and they sent me the diagram for the correct nylon 3 point sling. I had a local crane and rigging shop make one up for me. They did a nice job and the sling they made for me had tags sewn on them that told the rating and date to be re-certified. My sling is like I think you want very low profile.

You need to use a spreader bar so it pulls vertically on the attachment points.

Don't forget that as you decrease the angle of the sling set to gain head room you will loose capacity of the set so you may have to upgrade the size of the set.

I agree , a spreader bar will be a lot less problem in this situation.
