Good / best boat hook?

I have one of the wooden boat hooks but the metal hook on the end has fallen off. Does anyone know the replacement part for that?

Yes, the aluminum ones are cheap, the carbon fiber ones look pretty good, but pricey, their doesn't seem to be much in between.

I have a big long wood one that came with the boat and has hooks for it to sit on mounted on the side walkway on the boat. You could kill a guy with that thing, it's not going to bend picking a line up. The new ones are too flimsy to be of much use unless it's retrieving a cushion or something.

I agree, I bent a brand new aluminum one without much effort.

There is a product called a docking stick that is a nice addition to a boat hook.
Good for looping a rope around a pole that is out of reach without having to do the "throw the rope" thing 10 times.
