Chrysler Nissan (Yes, Datsun) International Harvester used them in Scouts too. Maybe part of what led to the bankruptcy.

To clarify, I had referred to the listing for the Hatteras, not the Bayliner. Look at the pics of the engines in both listings. They're physically the same except for the turbochargers on the Hatt.
That's not to say that Nissan and Mitsu didn't trade products. Kind of like a lot of Yanmars are Toyotas, and the big V-8 says Scania right on the valve covers.Last edited by Avenger; 07-09-2023 at 05:36 PM.

I own a 1978 International 284 tractor. It was a joint venture with Komatsu and built in Japan. Most of them had a Mazda gasser, but mine has the Nissan 3-cylinder diesel, 28hp. I'm sure parts for that would be difficult to obtain as well. But it sure is a cute little tractor.
