Airpilot just upgraded his ladder to the bridge on Melodie. I helped him reinstall it and snapped a few photos. He wanted to get rid of the teak treads but the starboard seemed to flex too much so he had a machine shop brace them with stainless channel. I think it came out pretty nice and I like the grip of the non-skid on the starboard.

Re: 60C Ladder upgrade
So this is Starboard with molded in nonskid? I replaced the teak bridge ladder steps with stainless steel ones, welded into the ladder, but I could add an overlay of a nonskid material.

Looks very nice. I like the look of my wood but hate the upkeep. I am going to try Awlwood this winter but if I have poor results I will give this a shot. You could also make the treads a little wider for better footing.

Nice design with the awning .

Awlwood might be too slippery, though.
I have a partial awning like that on my boat, too. It's amazing how shading even half the deck improves the temps in the cabin.
