Re: 70 Motoryacht - Mechanicals under the Floor

If its like my boat you should at least be able to lift the hatch in mid bathroom and twin room floors looking for sry bilge. . Also in OSR pull out drawers beside bedside and with torch check rudder posts as a leaking gland will put salt water below the bed and terminals may be corroded.

Re: 70 Motoryacht - Mechanicals under the Floor

Almost all the wiring in my 1990 65 MY runs along the hull sides except where it goes to head and bilge pumps. Wiring and plumbing that is visible running thru the engine room continues at the same height along the length of the boat. There are lots of access panels in closets and under berths. Fresh water runs close to the wiring. The only thing to be wary of is that the polybutylene plumbing sprouts leaks at the plastic elbows and tee fittings. The repair fittings are very difficult to find so you might need to replace water lines if you can’t get the copper repair fittings.
