    Creating New Work Space

Work space must be a premium for all of us as it is for me. I created some new space (or improved some poor space) and solved another problem--the ugly tool box. My socket set box catches hell; it always will. My generator sound shield was similarly afflicted which is why I recently repainted it and added a rubber mat on its top side.

So, I made a drop-on top for the tool box. The lid can still be hinged open, or the top can just be lifted off. The tool box sits in its own aluminum tray; underway, a bungee straps it down.

Also made a fixture to hold the trash can and work towels that attaches to the top of the generator battery box. I added spacers to keep the top vents clear.

Everything lifts out, so there's no downside getting in for maintenance. I sealed the oak with epoxy; two coats of two part paint means durability and easy clean-up. Should have thought of this years ago. A couple of additional fixtures in the works.

Can you make me one? $5.99?

I have what appears to be the same socket/wrench set in the same plastic 3 draw box. Except mine says gear wrench.

Another nice piece of work to a very high standard. Between you and Quentin, y'all ought to have a boatbuilding shop of your own.

Love it, amazing how little spaces/additions can make so much difference in usability. Thanks for sharing!!

I didn’t think anyone used those old 18v Dewalts anymore. Nice staging of the tools though.
