Re: BOLO Stolen 53MY Florida Gulf Coast
Don't know why that showed up so small, but...
This boat was stolen from Pete's Pier Marine in Crystal River FL some time after 10 pm on the night of 6th of May. Aqua Vida is a 53ft Hatteras with blue canvas enclosures. This boat could be headed south on the Gulf coast of Florida. If anyone sees this boat please notify me Michael Cauthen along with the Coast Guard and Sheriff department. I wonder how often this happens? It always seemed to me that we were just relying on the inate goodness of our fellow man, since a middle schooler with a penknife could jimmy my door locks.

At 9 knots it can’t be that far. I hope this story ends well

Re: BOLO Stolen 53MY Florida Gulf Coast
What a shame. Boats are awfully easy to steal.
Might be a good time to share that PO2 installed two well hidden kill switches on Aslan. PO1 reportedly paid a mechanic in St. Croix six hours finding them. I do appreciate him mentioning that during our change of command ceremony. While it doesn't make Aslan theft proof, it'll narrow down the offenders somewhat.
I do take issue with the middle schooler comment. Evidently, you haven't spent much time in South Carolina. Our SAT (stealing and thieving) scores amongst grade schoolers are the envy of middle schoolers everywhere.Semper Siesta

Kill switch is a must. Easy to install.

Re: BOLO Stolen 53MY Florida Gulf Coast
I installed a set on an old striker for a customer years ago.
repossessed it a year or so later and had no problem getting it started.
I think the guys oney as well spent. The boat wasn't stolen before it was repoed.Scott
