Looking for some advice on Insurance for my 1965 41' Hatteras Convertible.
I have insurance through Charter Lakes and underwritten by Markel.
We went through Hurricane Harvey in Port Aransas, TX. I went above and beyond to
secure and prepare the boat for the storm. (Because she means a lot to me).---My Brother
and I took the last Ferry off the Island the day of the storm!
Outriggers were bent, Salon doors blew in and we did get some water in the salon. Overall
we did really well as opposed to other who lost everything. We did file a claim and got paid.
I called Charter lakes today and they are saying my policy will not be renewed through
Markel with wind coverage (So basically no insurance for Hurricanes).
Charter lakes also told me that there is not another avenue for insuring this vessel.
I am supposed to get more clarification on this from Charter Lakes, but I wanted to get some
advise from everyone here. Let me know what you think.
Thanks
